Its hard to believe I had never met Molly & Bucky before their wedding day. Her emails are so warm & vivid, I feel like she painted me a picture of who they were long before we met in person. There’s a calm about these two that washes over you when you meet them. A sense of peace. I loved that they carried that theme throughout their wedding day. There wasn’t a single moment they didn’t completely relish. It gave me a real sense of why they make such a perfect pair…

Bucky is a fly fisherman & it was incredibly important to Molly to have that incorporated into their wedding. She made sure Bucky had time to toss his line in the lake behind the farmhouse at the Old Edwards Inn so I could snap a few shots of him doing something he loves. That says a lot about the kind of wife Molly is going to be. And the fact that she made time for a quiet moment with her dad before the ceremony… made me wish every bride would do the same. The connection that this family shares is beyond words, so I’m leaving it up to the slideshow below to give you a glimpse into their sweetness.

I stumbled on the song I chose for their slideshow just a week ago, through a beautiful video a friend sent me on YouTube ( yes, youtube ) and it immediately made me think of Molly & Bucky. Its a breathtaking little tune that just suits them. Here’s my favorite line:

“When the evening pulls the sun down, and the day is almost through. Oh, the whole world is sleeping, and my world is you…” – the Paper Kites

Venue- the Farm at Old Edwards Inn
Dress- Amy Kuschel
Shoes- Kate Spade & JCrew
Groom Suit- JCrew
Flowers- Mardee Allcorn Morris ( some of the most stunning arrangements I’ve ever seen..)
Coordination- Nancy Padgett with Soirees ( Nancy is brilliant..I can’t recommend her highly enough )
Band- Mo Sol

This session proved my theory that all the planning, posing, concepts & setting don’t matter a bit when you’re shooting toddlers. All you need is some pretty light & a happy family….and the magic will happen. Its always, always, always about the connection, and let me tell ya, happiness lives here…

Thanks to Sarah & Jordan ( the dynamic duo behind Sadiehigs Photography ), and sweet Nolan for letting me share in their fun.

Whenever it gets quiet around here it means big things are brewing, my friends. I have tons to blog, so hang in there …four beautiful couples & lots of sweet, sweet families are coming your way soon. I was shocked when our fall portrait sessions filled up before I ever had a chance to announce them, so if you’re hoping to schedule a lifestyle family session, I’m now booking about 3 months out. Spring spots are still available, but space is limited so call the studio to grab a date! And a quick update on wedding bookings… I’m accepting 4 more wedding commissions for next year ( all fall dates ) so if you’re hoping to book your fall wedding, give me a call at the studio so we can check availability. Ok, enough updates…on to the good stuff :)

If you’re a long time follower of this blog, you might recognize Cole & Ryan. I was so happy to have them in front of my lens again. Things have changed quite a bit around here since they were here last, so it was a completely new experience this time around. Running through a field & playing ball with dad were on the agenda…and lots of snuggles with mom. Everything about this shoot felt like an adventure. The way the light filtered through the trees gave me goosebumps & the connection these 4 share is darling. This first shot of Melinda & Cole just makes me melt… pretty sure thats one kiddo that loves his mom :)
