Two weeks ago I hopped a plane to Alabama for my last wedding of the season. I had never met Sarah & Dave before this session, but through all of the emails & phone calls with Sarah, I knew their wedding would be the absolute best way to wrap up 2012. They flew me out 2 days before the wedding for an engagement session with their pup Grace. Literally an hour after I stepped off the plane, we were shooting on the beautiful coast of Point Clear, with Grace cracking us up along the way. The connection between these 3 was apparent from the very first frame I shot. They are family in every sense of the word & I adore the way they love each other. Keep a lookout for their wedding preview coming up soon. Sarah was one jaw-droppingly gorgeous bride. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it.

Sarah, Dave & Grace, thanks for ending the 2012 season on a major high note. xo

Well, whattya know? After considering dropping this blog altogether, I figured I’d give it another go. Turns out blogging is like riding a bike..once you start, if you love it…you never stop. I’m hoping to rekindle my love of blogging over the next few weeks, so bear with me if I’m a little wobbly at first..hopefully I’ll hit a groove & remember how once-upon-a-time it was one of my favorite things to do. Truth is, I’m a different person than I was this time last year. For the longest time I wasn’t sure where blogging fell into my list of priorities. I used to think the only way my business would thrive is by blogging, blogging, blogging. But the past year has proven that theory wrong. This has been the year of rebuilding & leaving things to fate, to God’s will. I’ve coined it “the year of no goals.” Crazy? Maybe. But also incredibly refreshing. So much of my life has been goal focused & after the life-altering events of last fall, I decided it was time for a change. And as it turns out…this year of no goals is shaping up to be one of the biggest & best of my career. I have so much to share with you, my friends. I hope you’ll add me to your google reader & come along for the ride.

Now onto the good stuff..

If ever there were a perfect couple to bring me back to blogging, its Leila & Bryan. The very first time we met at the studio, it was clear we were a perfect fit. We spent an hour laughing, talking wedding details & tossing out ideas for this session. Leila is so warm & fun to be around. I could swear we were best friends in a past life. I love that she isn’t afraid to laugh at herself ( turns out she’s slightly bottle-opening challenged ;) and is always up for an adventure. Bryan & I share a love of Land Rovers..so when he mentioned they wanted to bring along his vintage Rover for the shoot, my eyes lit up. And from the minute they showed up to the studio for this shoot, it was better than I had imagined it to be. Everything just fell into place so effortlessly. You know you have an incredible couple when they don’t even bat an eye at your requests to climb on top of a car & juggle apples. Leila & Bryan..I adore you guys. Thanks for being you. Next September can’t come soon enough..

  1. Ohhh the golden goodness. Sweet perfection.

  2. Beautiful post!! I love the addition of the Land Rover and the apples!! Such a fun-loving couple!! =)

  3. There is something sweet about the layout of this kind of blog. It provides sharper photos wrapped into a nicely layed out page. The font type and size, the thin border lines are all nice KK touches that compliment your rich story telling images. That said, I’m glad you are in a healthier state KK. I’m sure you’ll know when too much is too much.

  4. This is wonderful. The pictures and words speak to what a great couple you are. Love the one with the apple, it is totally you. Can’t wait for the wedding.

  5. These look awesome!

  6. I am obsessed with this shoot! Seriously I absolutely cannot wait to see the wedding pictures. Kellie, Leila can’t say enough good things about you and your work. Fantastic job!

My work has a new home & I couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with you. This has been a labor of love for over a year, so I’m pretty stoked that it is finally LIVE. For years I have wanted a clean new identity for my images but have been so busy traveling & shooting, I’ve had to put the site on the back burner while I focused on my client work. Well.. its time for the new look to make its debut. Click the image below to direct you to the new site. Please update your RSS feeds to reflect the domain change & when in doubt, scroll to the right. We have also enabled the pinterest option, so feel free to pin away!

Many thanks to the couples & families who have shared their lives with me over the past 6 years. Without you, this site would not exist. Thanks for inspiring me beyond words.

**A giant hug goes out to my dear friend Jeff Holt for his design skills & troubleshooting to get this site launched. Couldn’t have done it without him..truly.**

Hope you enjoy!
