I’m taking a break from 2012 recaps to announce the launch of a project very near & dear to my heart. Through the years I’ve had a lot of emails asking if I offer workshops, and aside from a handful of One-on-One sessions each year, the answer has always been no.  I’ve had the idea behind the MillShops brewing for over 2 years, but the timing was never quite right… until now.

I knew the perfect situation would present itself, and on a random night in December, I sat down to write a blog post and it turned into a mission statement for the MillShops. Something about 2013 was pulling me to branch out & share my knowledge of the industry I love, but I had no idea it could reach beyond the walls of my studio. A few months ago I was introduced to an organization called Feed the Hunger during a pack-a-thon for a local church, and suddenly the MillShops’s mission grew twofold.

So, I’m thrilled to announce my first non-profit workshop, named after the place my business has called home for almost 7 years. My studio at Revolution Mill  has felt like home since the very first time I set foot in the door. I took a major leap of faith signing a lease on a place with no walls, no electricity and only two other tenants besides myself. Much like my business and my art, I’ve watched the Mill grow to a place that houses over 100 businesses, a place of community, and a place of vision. I’m thrilled they allowed me to use the iconic Revolution smokestack in the MillShops logo & can’t wait to host my first group workshop here. Part of the proceeds from the MillShops will be used to fund a mission trip to Haiti with Feed the Hunger in April, and the remainder of the earnings will be used as a donation to the organization to help feed families living in poverty. Please click on the image below to take you to the MillShops site, and learn all about what this workshop has to offer.

If you’re interested in starting 2013 with a fire in your heart to grow your business and your art, the MillShops is where you belong. Space is limited to 8 attendees. Click below for all the details. Can’t wait to meet you!
